There was bedlam, starting at 5 year old and half a dozen children an amazing gentleman called George Burns ran a tots footy session. Over the next year he nurtured not only the kids but a very nieve Mr Johnson, who willing began to help out as his own child attended. Then one day it happened; "Paul do you fancy taking the team on and putting them into a league?". Of course in a moment of madness the answer was OK, that was the start.
Under 8's - The fun begins (27/04/07)
The first season was an eye opener for all. Feeling completely bewildered Paul took his coaching badges and seconded Mick Sinclair to help. Finishing just below half way in the Monkton league we were happy.

Under 9's - Relegation (27/04/07)
Not a good season, feeling we had developed and had a team that played attractive football we looked to improve our position. It was not to be and ended the season on a low by tasting relegation to div. 1.

Under 10's - In Div.1 the Lion Roars (27/04/07)
From the disappointment there grew joy as the team with the addition of a new defender took the league by storm. Winning the league outright with 4 games left to play. We also reached the Cup Final to narrowly lose to local rivals Albany Park on penalties.

Under11's - In the Premiership the Lion Roars Louder (27/04/07)
We moved to eleven aside not knowing what to expect, signing a number of players from our other team to play Sundays we took what came. What came was more than we could expect, in a season that saw any of three teams with a chance to win the title Lambton came out on top. Add to that a second Cup Final appearance and win against Spartans, things could not have been better.

Under 12's - A New Hope (23/08/07)
For this season we decided to pit our wits farther afield and joined the Russel Foster Youth Leagues. As with all new teams we were placed in the bottom league, joined by our close challengers last season Spartans and the winners of both STYL 7 aside leagues Silksworth, it was never going to be easy. Up to the halfway point it was any one of the three teams who could win the league. The crunch game came down to us playing Silksworth at home, we lost the game 3-1 and handed pole position to the opposition. At this point we also lost one of our top scorers to injury and saw us lose the next 2 games, our chance was gone. Upon Marks return we saw a major up turn in results and a strong drive to the end of season winning all games saw us finish a clear second. Frustratingly in the end we lost the league due to the two defeats to Silksworth. Promotion to Div 2 was guaranteed and the opportunity to gain revenge on Silksworth.

Under 13's - The Lion Strikes Back??? - Part 1 (23/08/07)
We go into the new season with a new challenge and two new players. Shaun and Karl joining from FC Sparta (STYL). Shaun has joined to add strength to the team and Karl was signed after the shock departure of Simon our keeper. Also sadly leaving us was Kieran, we wish them both all the best wishes for the future.
Under 13's - The Lion Strikes Back Nearly! (12/08/08)
Once again a season that saw us grab second place and promotion. This was the ultimate goal at the kick off but looking back this was frustrating as we were undefeated against the ultimate winners Harton and lost due to another sticky patch mid season and all our losses being at home.
Return of the Lion (30/08/08)
And may the force be with us this season!!! As is usual we had a couple of players leave this close season, Mathew Jeffrey who had been with us from the start and Shaun Brunton who had only joined last season. We all wish them well for the future apart from if they play against us :-)
We do welcome Mark Bell into the fold, who has joined us from Plains Farm, in just a short time Mark has quickly gelled and I am sure will turn out to be an excellent signing.
As the previous two seasons we hope to do well and our search for the Holy Grail of Premiership football is tantalisingly close. Although it will not be easy and there are a lot of good teams in the league with three of the four teams who beat us last season also being promoted. So fingers crossed.
Do you think that there should be more under 21 leagues?
Yes, its a good step up from youth to adult football
