GREAT TEAM PERFORMANCE OVERSHADOWED BY A TERRIBLE INJURY FOR PAUL

Our final friendly took us to Ferndown to play a decent Poole Bay Estates side, with Eliot between the sticks, definitely no pushovers.
We had Andy on debut, and in the first minute he had chipped Eliot and hit a post. Nearly a fantastic start!!!
We went ahead after a tight 20 minutes through Sam, who finished off a lovely move with a cool side foot finish.
It was soon 2 when Paul crossed for Dan Rav to sweep home and we were on top.
Then disatser struck, as it did for us last pre-season when we lost Glyn with a busted wrist, when Paul had to go to hospital with what turned out to be a broken collar-bone following a crude hack from behind when he was clean through on goal!! Nightmare, because up until then he was really looking fit and sharp. Dan scored the resulting pen. Added to Daisy being out long-term after finally succumbing to the big knee op, and we could count ourselves very unlucky.
Beeby had taken Paul to hospital, so Lee and Anna were the now two subs, who both came on and did well.
Andy scored two quick-fire goals soon after the break to give us daylight, the first where he ran past two defenders and chipped poor Eliot, who could only stand and admire. the second one was put through his legs for good measure!!
Dan completed his hat-trick from the spot, again, after a hand-ball decision, and our other Andy soared highest to head home from a pin- point free kick courtesy of Anna

Our best pre-season under my stewardship ended here, and we look in good shape, just gutted for Paul, and Daisy, and also we look to be losing a great lad in Dan Beeby for a while, who has had to return home to be with his mum after losing his dad this week.
